SF Supervisor Threatens Total Ban on Public Nudity
In an article published Thursday, September 13, 2012, the
Bay Area Reporter has a main page feature article where the San Francisco County Supervisor from District Eight, (which covers the famous Castro neighborhood), says he is considering introducing a total ban on all forms of public nudity.
This seems to have been prompted by nudists wearing cock rings, and according to the Supervisor, "a flood of complaints" to his office.
Please join the NUDE IN organizers and supporters and flood his office with complaints about banning public nudity.
If you are a resident of San Francisco, consider telling him he won't get your vote in the future for re-election as Supervisor or any higher office he seeks in the future. If you are not a registered voter or do not live in SF, tell the Supervisor you won't be traveling here and will not be spending your money in San Francisco in the future. Here is the contact info for the SF District Eight Supervisor:

Dear Supervisor Scott Wiener,
I read in the BAR that you are planning to ban public nudity in San Francisco. I was very disappointed to read this. I do not think a ban benefits anyone and does not reflect the values of San Francisco as a place of freedom, tolerance and acceptance.
I'm encouraging you to consider that city residents like myself will not vote for you in the future. If you introduce a ban on public nudity I will tell every SF resident I know not to vote for your re-election and not to vote for you when you seek higher office.
I understand that being a city official is a very difficult job. Please consider showing respect for all of your constituents, including the nudists. Naked people vote, too.
Thank you,

Dear Supervisor Scott Wiener,
I enjoy visiting San Francisco. However, I think your intention to ban public nudity will change that. I have always known the City by the Bay to be a place of freedom and tolerance. I do not see why this tolerance cannot be extended to the public nudists.
If public nudity is banned in San Francisco I will not travel to your city in the future. I won't be booking hotel rooms, I won't be shopping at local stores or dining in local restaurants. I will not be donating money to the Folsom Street Fair or any other San Francisco charity event. I will encourage everyone I know to also avoid traveling to San Francisco as long as a nudity ban remains in place.
I am very sorry you are taking this action. It does not come across to me that a ban on public nudity solves any problems and seems to bolster the growing reputation that San Francisco is fast becoming a very bland flavor of vanilla.
I hope you reconsider. Since I may not be coming to SF anymore, I'll be spending my travel dollars in other cities instead.
Sincerely,
